"The silence workshop that Anne LeClaire led at Ragdale was life-changing for all the participants, including me. During the weekend, time stretched out in ways I never knew was possible and I found myself open to deep insights. Since the workshop, I have continued to invite silence to be my companion on several restorative quiet days and found the pratice deeply spiritual"

                                                Susan Page Tillett

                                                Executive Director

                                                Ragdale Foundation

To do anything, the first requirement is that we become quiet. It is in this space of stillness that truths surface, understandings expand and creativity blossoms.

Silence workshops can run an hour, a full day or a weekend and are often presented before church groups, hospital staffs, civic and women's organizations, schools, universities, and book clubs. They consist of periods of both lectures and exploratory silence. Attendees plumb stillness and discover its gifts and challenges, explore ways in which to access the wisdom that rises in silence through writing, sitting, walking, and, finally, discover methods by which to incorporate silence into daily life.

If you are interested in having me lecture or lead a workshop to your group or organization about the power and possibilities of silence and the skill of deep listening, I can be reached at:

Her classes always fill quickly, with a wide variety of students eager to partake of the feast of her insights and exercises. These workshops focus on the art and craft of writing during which participants encounter an approach to writing both practical and organic, one that empowers them to unleash their creativity and connect with the wisdom and intuitive storyteller that lies within. Designed for both the experience and the emerging writer, exercises stretch mind and imagination and hone the tools of fiction and non-fiction.
