********ON SILENCE*********
"The silence workshop that Anne LeClaire led at Ragdale was life-changing for all the participants, including me. During the weekend, time stretched out in ways I never knew was possible and I found myself open to deep insights. Since the workshop, I have continued to invite silence to be my companion on several restorative quiet days and found the pratice deeply spiritual"

To do anything, the first requirement is that we become quiet. It is in this space of stillness that truths surface, understandings expand and creativity blossoms.
Silence workshops can run an hour, a full day or a weekend and are often presented before church groups, hospital staffs, civic and women's organizations, schools, universities, and book clubs. They consist of periods of both lectures and exploratory silence. Attendees plumb stillness and discover its gifts and challenges, explore ways in which to access the wisdom that rises in silence through writing, sitting, walking, and, finally, discover methods by which to incorporate silence into daily life.
If you are interested in having me lecture or lead a workshop to your group or organization about the power and possibilities of silence and the skill of deep listening, I can be reached at:![]()

"We hear nothing but raves about Anne LeClaire from her students at the Hawaii Writers Retreat. She immediately tunes in to each student's individual needs to make sure these aspiring writers get the most out of the retreat experience. We've asked her to work with both fiction anmd nonfiction students, with equally stellar results. Anne has also proven to be a dynamite presenter, delivering speeches to large groups that are engaging and packed with specific benefits."

Director, Hawaii Writers Retreat
"Anne LeClaire is the most popular teacher we have ever had for writing workshops. Her classes always fill quickly, with a wide variety of students eager to partake of the feast of her insights and exercises. I am always amazed at how quickly a group bonds over the deep sharing of experiences. Anne does an excellent job of setting a tone that is respectful and supportive, while stretching each member of the group to take chances in the realms of creativity and honesty."
